Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Cleanor Research Labs L.L.C-FZ ("we", "our", "us") handles personal information when you use the Another You mobile application and anotheryou.app (the "Service").

1. About us

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to deliver the Service:

Content you submit. Photos and videos you select to apply an AI effect. Submitted only at the moment you tap Generate. Used solely to perform the requested transformation. Not used to train AI models.

Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and a provider-issued user identifier. No password is stored — authentication is handled by Apple, Google, or Firebase Authentication on our behalf.

Subscription & billing data. Apple processes all payments. Apple sends us a transaction token confirming the active subscription tier. We do not receive your card number or full billing address.

Device & diagnostic data. Anonymized crash reports, performance metrics, and basic usage counters (e.g. effect generations per day, app version, OS version, device model). No precise location, contacts, or browsing history.

Communications. If you email hello@cleanor.app we keep the message and our replies for support history.

3. What we do NOT collect

  • Photos or videos from your library that you did not select.
  • Phone number, address, or precise GPS location.
  • Payment-card details, bank information, or government IDs.
  • Cross-app advertising identifiers (we do not run ads).
  • Microphone recordings, camera captures outside of explicit generations, or background activity data.

4. How we use your information

  • To run the requested AI generations.
  • To verify your subscription status and unlock paid features.
  • To diagnose bugs, monitor service health, and improve quality.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To comply with applicable law and protect our legal rights.

5. Legal bases (GDPR / EEA / UK users)

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of contract — to provide the Service you sign up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, and improve quality. Interests balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — for any optional analytics or push notifications you enable; you may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and law enforcement requirements.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with vendors who help us run the Service, under contracts requiring confidentiality and security:

  • Apple Inc. — App Store payments, Sign in with Apple, push notifications.
  • Google LLC — Cloud Run hosting, Cloud Storage, Firebase Authentication, Sign in with Google.
  • AI model providers (e.g. Replicate, OpenAI, Google Gemini) — anonymized image data sent for the requested transformation. Providers are bound by contractual data-processing terms; outputs are returned to us and not retained for training.

We may disclose information if compelled by law (court order, subpoena), to protect users from harm, or as part of a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition).

7. Data retention

  • Source photos/videos: deleted from our servers within 24 hours of generation.
  • Generated outputs: stored encrypted for 30 days so you can re-download them, then deleted (you keep the local copy).
  • Account email and subscription state: retained for the lifetime of your account; deleted on account deletion.
  • Diagnostic data: retained for up to 90 days, then aggregated.
  • Support messages: retained 24 months for service-history purposes.

8. International transfers

Our processing infrastructure is hosted in Google Cloud us-central1 (United States). If you access the Service from the EEA, the UK, or other regions, your information will be transferred to the United States.

For EEA/UK users, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses as adopted by the European Commission (Module 2: Controller-to-Processor) and the corresponding UK addendum.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Exercise any right by emailing hello@cleanor.app from the address associated with your account, or — for account deletion — from inside the app at Settings → Account → Delete Account.

10. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of "sales" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. Another You does not sell or share personal information for advertising. To exercise California rights, email hello@cleanor.app.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses essential cookies only (session, security, language preference). We do not use third-party advertising cookies and do not track across other sites.

The mobile app may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent only if we ever enable optional product-improvement analytics. ATT is currently not requested in v1.

13. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2+. Data at rest in Google Cloud Storage and Firestore is encrypted with AES-256. Authentication uses Apple / Google / Firebase identity providers. We follow least-privilege access controls and audit-log all admin actions.

No security system is impenetrable. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact hello@cleanor.app immediately.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the app and on this page before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above tells you when this version became active.
